Getting started with the new Article page builder (Beta)
Build your article on the real page, edit everything where it sits, and add the projects, professionals and downloads behind your story.
A great article is one of the best ways to show what your business does, and the people behind the work. The new Article page builder lets you build it on the real page, exactly as readers will see it, so there’s no guessing and no publishing just to check how it looks.
What you build is what publishes. The builder uses the same masthead, type and section layouts as the published article, with the editing tools sitting on top.
Quick links:
What you can do with the new builder
- See exactly what readers will see. Build on the real page, then check it at full width or on a phone.
- Get started in seconds. A new article starts with just its title.
- Edit everything where it sits. Change the title, teaser, author and tags right on the page.
- Show the work behind the story. Add projects, professionals, publications, products and downloads.
- Give readers somewhere to go next. Add buttons under your text and credit quotes to the professional behind them.

Your article on the canvas, with every tool in one panel beside it.
Start a new article
In Business Manager, go to Articles and select Add a New Article. Type a title and press Enter, and your article is created. Article details stays open for the rest of its fields, or close it and start building straight away.

Type a title and press Enter: the article is created and Article details opens over the page.
Even an empty article looks like the real thing. The banner sits under the masthead at its true size, so you can see where your headline lands before you choose a photo.

Upload a banner photo and your article is ready to build.
Edit on the page
Hover over the title, teaser, author or tags and a grey block appears with a pen. Click, or press Enter, and type. You’ll see your words in the same type readers will. Press Enter to keep a change or Escape to undo it.

The title edits over the banner, in the headline’s own size.
- Author: opens a list of people you can credit. Start typing to find them.
- Tags: open the tag editor, with your category and themes.

Choose an author and edit tags without leaving the page.
Everything you change on the page stays in step with Article details, and the other way round.
Find your tools
Everything that isn’t on the page lives in the tools panel beside your article:
- Article details, Photo credit, Search tags and SEO: each opens in its own window over the page.
- Organise layout: reorder your sections.
- Mobile preview: see your article at a phone’s width.
- Expand: see your article at full width.
Drag the panel by its handle to move it out of your way. Select the arrow at its foot to show each tool’s name.

Mobile preview: check how every section stacks on a phone before you publish.
To reorder sections, open Organise layout, drag a section by its handle, then select Save & Close.

Organise layout shows every section as a compact row, so a long article fits on screen.
Tip: Cancel puts everything back exactly as it was when you opened the window. Search tags save as you add them, so that window simply closes.
Lay out text and images
Select Add a section (the small round button between sections) to choose from subheadings, paragraphs, quotes, photos and more. Each option shows a thumbnail of how it really looks.

- Place text and images: text blocks, subheadings and medium images can sit left, centred or right, from the section’s toolbar. A centred text block and a centred image share the same width.
- Subheadings: choose M, L or XL while you type. XL matches the article title.
- Single image: choose medium or large from the controls on the picture itself.

Place a text block left, centred or right. Its buttons move with it.

Single image (formerly Single large photo) in large and medium.
Add buttons and quote credits
Give readers a next step. Hover over a text block and select + Add button. Give each button a label and a link, such as View the project or Meet the architect. You can add up to two per block: the first shows as a solid button and the second as an outlined one.

Two buttons under a text block, exactly as readers will see them.
Quotes can be credited to anyone. Type a name, or select Choose professional to link to their profile. Use the toggles in the quote’s toolbar to show or hide the name and the View Profile and Contact buttons.

Add projects, professionals and downloads
New sections bring the projects, people and resources behind your story into the article. Each one looks in the builder exactly as it does to readers.
- Projects grid: feature the projects your article talks about. Fill every slot and a new one appears.
- Professionals: show the architects, designers and makers involved, four or six to a row.
- Publications grid: point readers to related articles. Each one appears with the same card as the article directory.
- Featured product: spotlight a product with the supplier’s View Profile and Contact buttons.
- Downloads: share a brochure, spec sheet or guide, with a picture, a title in M, L or XL and a download button.

The Projects grid grows as you fill it.

Professionals, six to a row.

A Featured product, shown exactly as readers see it.

Downloads: add a picture, a title and the file, right in the section.
Credit the professionals you feature
Featured Professionals, under your article’s introduction, now fills itself in with everyone your article features: professionals in a Professionals section, quote credits, and profile links in your text and buttons. Nobody gets left off by accident.
To leave someone out, select the eye next to their name. They stay greyed out for you and are hidden from readers. For readers, every name opens that professional’s profile in a new tab.

Ideas for professionals and product suppliers
Architects, designers and builders
- Tell the story of a finished build, then add it in a Projects grid so readers can see the full project.
- Credit your consultants and makers in a Professionals section. They’ll appear in Featured Professionals too.
- Add a View the project button under the paragraph that describes it.
Product suppliers and brands
- Show a product in use with a Featured product, then link the projects it appears in.
- Share spec sheets and brochures with a Downloads section.
- Quote the architect who specified your product, and credit them with Choose professional.
