What is the difference between SEO and ArchiPro Search?

SEO, or 'Search Engine Optimisation', focuses on improving your visibility on search engines like Google, with the goal of ranking on the first page of results.

ArchiPro Search, on the other hand, is specific to the ArchiPro platform. It determines how prominently your profile appears when users search within the ArchiPro website.

How does SEO work?

When a user types a query, Google tries to find the most relevant answer from its index based on many factors. Google tries to determine the highest quality answers, and factor in other considerations that will provide the best user experience and most appropriate answer.

How does ArchiPro Search work?

The search bar on ArchiPro filters results based on the key words used, producing results from all pages across the platform.

What does 'Quality Content' look like?

  • User-focused: Write content with your audience in mind—what do they want to know, and what will keep them engaged?
  • Readable and engaging: Ensure your content is clear, concise, and enjoyable to read.
  • Intent-driven: Consider why users are viewing your content. What are they looking for, and what action do you want them to take?
  • Unique and up-to-date: Regularly refresh your content with new, relevant information to keep it appealing to users and favourable to Google’s algorithms.

Easy ways to optimise your profile

Here are some 'quick wins' that you can take to optimise your profile for SEO and ArchiPro Search.

Optimising for SEO

  • Profile Description: Search engines scan for keywords in your company description in order to rank your profile in the search results. Therefore, your most relevant information must be readily available in this section, such as: company name, what you do, serviceable areas and key services.
  • Links in Projects / Articles: Increased internal links used throughout your ArchiPro profile pages directly correlates to an increase in searchability. At the end of your project and article pages, include clear CTA’s with relevant and intentional links connecting to other pages of your profile.
    • Include clear CTAs with relevant links: At the end of your projects or articles, guide users to other profile pages with actionable links. For instance, instead of generic phrases like "read article here," use engaging anchor text like "our article ‘How to Write a Great Brief’ explores this in detail."
    • Focus on driving action: While projects and articles aren’t meant to directly convert users, they should encourage engagement. For example, wrap up a project by saying, "If you'd like to discuss your project aspirations, reach out to our team," and link to your Contact tab.
  • Meta Data: Meta Data is how your project appears in search engine results. It includes the SEO title and description, which should closely reflect your article's content, incorporate primary keywords, and remain clear and concise to attract clicks. You can directly influence this in the SEO tabs of your project and article pages.

Optimising for ArchiPro Search

  • Search Tags: Adding relevant keywords as search tags can help potential clients find your profile more easily (maximum of 5 terms).
    • Where to add them: Include these tags in your Profile Details or within your Projects and Articles.
    • How to choose: Consider what your ideal clients are likely searching for when looking for a business like yours.

For example, if you're a landscape designer, tags like garden design, outdoor living, or landscape architecture can make your profile more discoverable.
  • Network / Product Tagging: The more connections you have on your profile, the more places your profile will appear across ArchiPro.
    • Network: Within your Business Manager, go to 'Network' on the left. This is where you can add new associations to your network or view existing ones. Ensure you just connect with professionals or suppliers that you have worked with.
    • Product Tagging: Tagging products in projects will make your project/profile appear on the suppliers product pages and profile. This is an excellent way to increase your visibility on ArchiPro and improve how you appear when searched.

In summary, here are a few easy things that you can do to optimise your profile:

  1. Update your Profile Description
(Business Manager > Profile > About > 'About the Company')
  2. Add relevant CTA links to the bottom of your projects and articles
  3. Review your search tags
(Business Manager > Profile > Profile Details > 'Search' at the bottom on the left)
  4. Connect with professionals or suppliers you have worked with
(Business Manager > Profile > Network)
  5. Tag products in projects - see help article here
